My name is Ann McGloon and my husband and I live in beautiful southern Oregon and share our home with four Sussex Spaniels. We have had Sussex since 1999 when “Connie” entered our lives.
While I show in conformation, most of my energies go to training and working my dogs for other venues. Currently, I am very active in search-and-rescue with my Sussex. I train and handle my own dogs; they humble me, make me laugh, and, in general, keep life in perspective.
I breed infrequently and have only bred two litters. My goal and philosophy, however, is to breed a proper sized Sussex that is structurally and temperamentally sound with the drive and heart of a working spaniel; in addition, genetic health and diversity are extremely important to me. I have spent a considerable amount of time researching the breed; as part of that research I have compiled an extensive database of Sussex. Please feel free to browse the DATABASE. (All the data was collected from publicly available documents which as we know sometimes contain errors; therefore, any and all additions and corrections are most welcome.)
I currently don’t plan on breeding now for a few years, but if you are interested in the dogs you see here, I suggest that you contact SeaMist Sussex, located in California.
I belong to the Sussex Spaniel Association (UK), and the Sussex Spaniel Club of America where I serve as President and Chair the Performance Committee. In addition, I manage the SSCA’s website and from the Fall of 2003 through Spring 2009, I was the editor for the SSCA newsletter, The Scentinel. Locally, I belong to the Rogue Valley Kennel Club, where I serve as Vice President, and I am the Unit Leader for the Josephine County SAR canine team.
